The ANA Scholarship

The ANA Scholarship

UPDATE: Thank you to all who applied. We’re looking through all the entries and will select the awardee soon!

Both Jenny and Mic came to doing creative work later in life, partially because we didn’t see any opportunities for people like us when we were first interested in being comedians and writers.

We want to change that.

So we’re launching the ANA Scholarship, a scholarship for young Asian creatives-to-be looking to take a first step into a new world their parents probably won’t approve of.

The winner of the ANA Scholarship gets

  • Tuition paid for a private pilot writing course with Matthew S. Starr, an awesome LA-based comedian and screenwriter. The course is five sessions long and held virtually on Zoom.

  • A one-hour virtual feedback session with Tea Ho, an incredible screenwriter whose credits include The Sympathizer and Poker Face, that comes after the pilot course is complete.

The scholarship is open to all folks of AAPI heritage or descent. You don’t have to have any prior experience, but we are looking for fresh, distinct, passionate voices. The winner will be someone who really has something to say, will be ready to work hard, and can’t wait to get started. If that’s you, then apply below. Applications are due May 31.
